Windham Utility Clerk Pleads Guilty to Theft

November 01, 2017

Lindsey M. Paolella, 30, a former Windham utility billing clerk, has been charged with stealing more than $1,000 worth of Windham water customer’s bill payments.

The thefts occurred over several months in 2016.  Ms. Paolella pleaded guilty to third-degree felony tampering and fourth-degree felony theft.  She resigned from her job in October 2016, after village officials discovered she was stealing customer’s payments.  Her actions violated five different sections of the village’s employee manual.  She was hired as a utility billing clerk in March 2015 and was appointed to fill an open seat on the Windham Board of Education.  She resigned from that position prior to the criminal matter.
